Composed by Joseph Edouard Barat, Orientale was written for Bb Cornet or C/Bb Trumpet and Piano. Written for intermediate players, this piece is inspired by oriental and Arabic music.

The beginning is an exchange between the instruments, with the Piano starting on its own. After this short exchange, the Cornet and Piano play together.

Well composed and very lyrical, this piece is really enjoyable and could be perfectly used for recital or contests.

Joseph Edouard Barat (1882-1963) composed numerous pieces for winds and Piano accompaniment such as 'Andante and Allegro' or 'Introduction and Dance', amongmany others.
